Terms
Terms of Service
These Terms govern use of the GitHub Signals public project catalog and the connected publishing tools operated by GitHub Signals. By using the service or authorizing a social account, you agree to these Terms and the applicable terms of the connected platform.
The service
GitHub Signals discovers public open-source projects, creates concise editorial summaries and media, links visitors to source repositories, and lets authorized editors publish selected content to connected social channels. The publishing tools are not offered as an unrestricted public account or bulk-posting service.
Connected accounts and authorization
- You must own or have authority to connect and publish to any social account, Page, or professional account you authorize.
- Authorization occurs through the platform's official OAuth flow. Never provide a social-account password to GitHub Signals.
- You may revoke access through the platform's authorized-app settings. Revocation may prevent future publishing but does not automatically remove prior posts.
- You remain responsible for reviewing captions, media, disclosure settings, audience settings, and platform-specific options before publication.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- publish content you do not have the right or authorization to use;
- mislead users, impersonate others, distribute spam, or manipulate engagement;
- publish unlawful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, or malicious content;
- bypass platform review, consent, privacy, rate-limit, or disclosure requirements;
- probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the service or connected accounts; or
- use unofficial APIs, credential sharing, scraping, or browser automation to evade provider controls.
Content and intellectual property
Repository names, source code, logos, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners and are subject to their licenses. GitHub Signals does not claim ownership of linked repositories. Original editorial text, layout, and media produced by GitHub Signals remain subject to the rights of their respective creator or operator.
AI-assisted material
Some summaries, narration, captions, or visual elements may be created with AI assistance and editorial review. They may contain mistakes and are provided for discovery and general information, not as legal, financial, security, or professional advice. The linked repository is the authoritative source for project behavior and licensing.
Platform rules
TikTok, Meta, GitHub, Google, Telegram, and other platforms are independent third parties. Their terms, community standards, developer rules, and availability apply separately. We may suspend a connection or publication capability when required to protect an account, comply with policy, or investigate misuse.
Availability and changes
The service may change, pause, or stop without guarantee. Provider APIs, permissions, and review decisions can change independently and may interrupt publishing. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and effective date.
Disclaimers and limitation
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted operation, publication success, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, GitHub Signals is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service or a third-party platform.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
