Data Deletion
This page explains how an authorized TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram account owner can disconnect GitHub Signals and request deletion of information held by our publishing tools.
1. Revoke platform access
Open the connected platform's settings for authorized apps, business integrations, or permissions and remove the GitHub Signals application. Revocation stops future authorized API access when the platform processes it. You may also disconnect the channel from the GitHub Signals publishing interface when that control is available.
2. Send a deletion request
Email githubsignals@gmail.com with the subject GitHub Signals data deletion request.
Include:
- the platform name;
- the username, Page name, or professional-account name;
- the approximate date the account was connected; and
- which data or connection you want deleted.
Do not send a password, access token, recovery code, government identifier, or other sensitive credential. We may request a safe ownership-verification step before deleting account data.
What we delete
After verification, as applicable to the request, we will delete or disconnect:
- stored access and refresh tokens;
- the connected-account record and cached profile information;
- unpublished media staged solely for that account;
- scheduled but not yet submitted publications; and
- associated operational records that are not required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or an unresolved publication incident.
What may remain
- Posts already published on TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram remain controlled by that platform and account owner. Delete them through the platform itself.
- Public GitHub repository facts and editorial catalog entries that are not personal account data may remain.
- Security records, aggregate statistics, or records required by law may be retained where permitted.
- Encrypted backups may retain deleted information until overwritten through the normal backup cycle; restored data remains subject to the deletion request.
Timing
We aim to complete a verified request within 30 days and will follow any different period required by applicable law. We will confirm completion or explain any information that must be retained.
